D.A.N.C.E.
I returned to In Cahoots Residency in 2026 to create a new body of work, which revealed an energetic expression inspired by the spiritual renewal and fervor of late evenings spent dancing at clubs in Portland.
For so long I'd been separated from a world I knew existed. I knew it existed because I had listened to all the live recordings, seen the club footage, played and replayed the radio 1 bbc mixes, heard the playlists, the remixes, read the blogs sharing niche re-edits, relistening over and over and over (and over and over). But somehow only recently did I finally allow myself to make the pilgrimage. Standing in line outside the venue, chilled in my sheer dress--was I shivering because I was cold or because I was nervous? How quickly such a question dissolves, as the kick and snare throw my body helplessly into quivering and joyous motion. Blind with giddy as I feel myself surrounded by a roiling crowd, cackling as we all are plunged beneath a yawning sawtooth wave. A baptism in motion, thrashing carefree and glimpsed only briefly in a flash of strobe.
